Well worth the money!!!!
We received this as a shower gift. My daughter started using it at around 4 months and it was a lifesaver! At first she was just thrilled with all of the colors and the ability to walk herself in a circle. Now (at 6 1/2 months) she is able to actually "play" with all of the various components. She loves hanging out in it in the kitchen, bouncing away while mommy and daddy eat. I had similar concerns about the jester and mirror pieces as some reviewers, but we simply removed them for a short time. Also, my daughter was able to physically remove the mirror piece from its socket once--so always check that the toys are secure!!! Also--either my daughter is a "brut" or we got a working king/queen, because she has been able to make them play music repeatedly since she started using the toy! (unlike other reviewers who indicated their child could not make the music play without a really hard wack). Finally--please ignore the reviewer who indicated the seat should be lowered so the childs feet are flat. The instructions/warnings clearly say that the childs feet should NOT be flat against the bottom!!!! (and it certainly does not delay development as my daughter has been using it since she was 4 months old, has been crawling since about that time and at 6 1/2 months is already pulling herself up and learning how to "cruise")
First Time Mommy
I have to say I think this is a wonderful product. I really looked into the different saucers before I purchased this one for my 5 month old (checking online and taking my daughter to the store to try them out).
My little girl loves the lights and sounds, and to this day (now 9 months) she still plays in it everyday. She has not tired of the toys and even sits in it just to watch TV. The toys bend and move without her being able to pull them out or break them, and I don't have to worry about her choking on small pieces.
My husband and I love it because it is easy to fold and take with us, and I don't feel that I need a degree to fold and unfold it.
It has given me a place my daughter will sit and entertain herself when she would normally want "Mommy" to hold her all the time. This is a great way to let your baby learn to entertain themselves while you just watch or play also!
Bought it AGAIN!!!
I purchased the older ultrasaucer 5 years ago for my first child and I just bought this one as our second is due within the month. I decided to leave a review because of the negative ones about it not being good for and active child FALSE! Our 1st was very active from day one held her head fine at 3 days old and loved this toy although I never got a whole dinner prepared before she wanted out, if you have a very active child Nothing keeps their attention too long, this was top on our list!! Also about the pediatric therapist, our daughter walked before she was 10 months old and played in the saucer many months before as well as after she started walking, so I am not a therapist, but I have got a 5 year old case study with not one single problem with her physical development, I believe we started putting her in the saucer at around 2 months she did not start really enjoying it until about 3, 3 1/2 months.
