great for busy moms but some inconsistencies

This thermometer was a godsend. A few days after receiving it, my 15 month came down with a bad virus and was up all night. We checked his temperature 10 times or more that night and I was so thankful to have it. If used correctly, this is a pretty consistent thermometer. The key is to learn to use it correctly. If you have major discrepancies in your baby's temp, you might not be scanning the same area or might be lifting the thermometer off of his head in spots. With a little practice, it should be no problem. . . And boy did we get our practice all night long!

Excellent (but fragile)

This is a great thermometer! Accurate, easy to use. Perfect for infants and young children. It reads in seconds. We tried multiple different types of less expensive digital thermometers and this one is simply the best we have found. One note: the thermometer was dropped on the floor and the prong inside broke off so I had to buy another one -- so it does seem a bit fragile); still I bought another because it was so great to use.

Easy to use but cheaper at WalMart

It's a good thermometer, very convenient and easy on the baby. However readings are not always correct. If you are looking of accurate reading get a rectal thermometer, but please use it only if you want accurate readings for emergencies, not for regular monitoring. Also you can buy it at WalMart for $34.99. I Feel Ripped off about the price.
